Important Information About Your Inhaler

Fostair 100/6 Inhaler Brand Change

Patients who currently use Fostair 100/6 pMDI inhalers may notice a change to the brand of inhaler they receive from their pharmacy.

What is changing?

Following guidance from NHS Dorset, GP practices are reviewing the use of Fostair brand inhalers and switching suitable patients to Proxor inhalers.

Will my medication change?

No. Proxor contains the same medicines in the same strengths as Fostair:

  • Beclometasone 100 micrograms
  • Formoterol 6 micrograms
Both inhalers are pressurised metered dose inhalers (pMDIs) and are used in the same way.

What do I need to do?
  • Continue using your current Fostair inhaler until it is finished.
  • When you receive Proxor, read the dispensing label and patient information leaflet before use.
  • Use the inhaler exactly as prescribed.

Will it work the same?

Yes. As the medication and inhaler technique are the same, you should not notice any difference in how your treatment works.

Questions?

If you have any questions or concerns about this change, please contact the practice or speak to a member of our pharmacy team.
